It should be stored in a ventilated, low-temperature, and dry warehouse and separated from oxidizers, acids, and food additives.

What’s the application of 2-Bromoethanol?

It is obtained by the reaction of ethylene oxide and hydrogen bromide: pass ethylene oxide into 46%-48% hydrobromic acid solution at 0-20°C, and after passing, the reaction is 1-2h. Neutralize the hydrobromic acid with Chemicalbook sodium carbonate at about 10°C, extract 2-bioethanol with ether, dry the ether solution with anhydrous magnesium sulfate overnight, filter out the desiccant, recover the ether and get the crude product. The finished product is obtained by fractional distillation under reduced pressure. It is used as a solvent, organic chemical material, and analytical reagent.
