2. Medical applications

Research in the field of medical applications has a bright future because it has no toxic side effects. Wound treatment with a paste made of copper chlorophyll salts can accelerate wound healing. It is used as an air freshener in daily life and clinical practice and is particularly well studied for its anti-cancer and anti-tumor properties. Reports are summarizing various data on the effects of copper sodium chlorophyll salts on the human body in the form of detailed anti-tumor graphs, and the mechanisms of their direct or indirect tumor inhibition are mainly as follows: ( 1) complexation with planar aromatic carcinogens; ( 2) inhibition of carcinogenic activity; ( 3) degradation of carcinogens; ( 4) free radical scavenging, antioxidant effects. Some researchers have investigated the components of copper sodium salts that play a role, and the results are two of the more abundant ones, but it is not indicated which structure plays the role. Due to the free radical scavenging effect of chlorophyll copper sodium salts, studies have considered adding them to cigarette filters to achieve the scavenging of various free radicals in cigarette smoke, thus reducing the risk to humans.
