Lithium bromide purchased from the market has a concentration of about 50% solution or solid lithium bromide. If the lithium bromide solution is colorless, it is necessary to add a lithium chromate corrosion inhibitor with a weight percentage of about 0.3%. Before adding, lithium chromate should be dissolved in distilled water, and then added to the lithium bromide solution. After adding lithium chromate, lithium bromide solution with pH 9.5~10.5 has better corrosion resistance to metal materials. The pH value of lithium bromide solution is measured by pH meter or pH paper, that is, after the solution is stirred well, 2mL is sucked out by pipette and diluted with 5~10 times of distilled water. If the pH value is too small for an acidic reaction, an appropriate amount of lithium hydrogen Chemicalbook oxide can be added to the solution; if the pH value is too large for an alkaline reaction, an appropriate amount of bromine hydrochloric acid can be added to the solution. When the solid lithium bromide is used to prepare the solution, the solid lithium bromide and distilled water are weighed separately, and the solid lithium bromide is gradually added into the distilled water and stirred. The addition of lithium chromate corrosion inhibitor and the adjustment of pH value is the same as above. In the refrigeration system, to improve the cooling capacity of the lithium bromide unit, the film condensation of the refrigerant vapor outside the condenser tube must be changed into bead condensation to increase the heat and mass transfer effect of the condenser and absorber, so 0.1% to 0.3% of n-octanol or isooctanol is added to the lithium bromide solution by weight. Used as a buffering agent in air conditioners and as an anti-freeze preservative in water cooling systems.
