It can react with ethylene oxide; dimethyl sulfate; diethyl sulfate; chloromethane; benzyl chloride to produce different quaternary ammonium cations; react with sodium chloroacetate to obtain alkyl betaine amphoteric surfactants; react with hydrogen peroxide to obtain amine oxide products.

What’s the application of NN-Dimethyldodecylamine?

Colorless liquid. Melting point -20℃, boiling point 247℃, 110-112℃ (0.4kPa), relative density 0.775, refractive index 1.4375. soluble in alcohols, insoluble in water. Dodecanol and dimethylamine catalyzed amination in the liquid phase at atmospheric pressure, 180-120℃, to remove one molecule of water, which leads to crude tertiary amine, and the finished product of high purity dodeca-tertiary amine is obtained by distillation under reduced pressure. It is an intermediate of quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant. It can react with ethylene oxide, dimethyl sulfate, diethyl sulfate, chloromethane and benzyl chloride to produce different quaternary ammonium salt cations; react with sodium chloroacetate to obtain alkyl betaine amphoteric surfactant; react with hydrogen peroxide to obtain amine oxide products.

Used as an important intermediate in the synthesis of vitamin E

Used in the preparation of fiber detergent, fabric softener, asphalt emulsifier, dye oil additive, metal antirust agent, antistatic agent, etc.
