Mainly used in the inorganic industry, it is the basic raw material for manufacturing various potassium salts or bases such as potassium hydroxide, potassium sulfate, potassium nitrate, potassium chlorate, potassium red alum, etc. The pharmaceutical industry uses it as a diuretic and a drug to prevent and control potassium deficiency. The dye industry is used to produce G-salt, reactive dyes, etc. In agriculture, it is a potassium fertilizer. It is a fast-acting fertilizer and can be applied directly to farmland to raise the moisture in the lower layer of the soil and has a drought-resistant effect. However, it is not suitable for saline land and for crops such as tobacco, sweet potatoes, and sugar beets. Potassium chloride is similar to sodium chloride in taste (bitter) and is also used as an additive to low sodium salt or mineral water. It is also used in the manufacture of the muzzle or gun muzzle deflagrators, as a heat treatment agent for steel, and for photographic purposes. It is also used in medicine, scientific applications, food processing, and table salt where potassium chloride can be partially replaced by sodium chloride to reduce the possibility of high blood pressure.
