What is Dibutylamine?
With the progress of science and technology and the development of society, chemical products have invariably permeated our daily lives, in medicine, food, cosmetics, electronics, industry, and other areas, becoming an essential part of our lives. One such product is Dibutylamine which has developed particularly rapidly in recent years. Do you know about Dibutylamine?
The official answer: Di-n-butylamine (English name Di-n-butylamine) is also known as dibutylamine, N,N-dibutylamine (N,N-Dibuthylamine) N-butyl-1-butylamine (N-butyl-1-butylamine), DNBA for short. N-butyl-1-butylamine (N-butyl-1-butylamine), DNBA for short, is a colorless transparent liquid with ammonia odor at room temperature, soluble in water, acetone, and benzene, very soluble in ethanol and ether. It has the chemical properties of secondary amines and is stable to heat. However, it is flammable and can be burned when exposed to open flame, high temperature, and strong oxidizer, and will emit toxic nitrogen oxide fumes when burned. Dibutylamine is poisonous and is hazardous to health as it irritates the mouth and digestive tract when accidentally taken. After inhalation, nose, throat, and lung irritation, nausea, headache, serious emphysema can be caused. The liquid is a strong irritant to the skin, and short-term contact can cause burns. Direct eye contact can cause serious damage. It can be used as a compatibilizer, medicine, pesticide, dyestuff, mineral flotation agent, emulsifier and intermediate of fine chemicals, etc. The molecular formula is C8H19N, the chemical structural formula is C4H9)2NH.
What’s the application of Dibutylamine?
Dibutylamine is a raw material for organic synthesis, which can be used in the synthesis of butylthiocarbamate in pesticides, and also used in the production of dyes, rubber vulcanization accelerator (BZTP), antioxidant (NBC), POP polymerization catalyst, anti-corrosion agent, drugs, and oil additives dibutyl butylthiocarbophos (molybdenum, lead, antimony, zinc). Used in petroleum additives, rubber accelerators, mineral flotation agents, corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers, insecticides, polymerization inhibitors, and dyes. Used in organic synthesis, also used as rubber vulcanization accelerator and anti-corrosion agent. It can be used as intermediates of organic synthesis. Used in the production of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, mineral flotation agents, emulsifiers, and intermediates of fine chemicals, etc. Used as corrosion weighing agent, rubber accelerator, insecticide, polymerization inhibitor, etc.
It is obtained from the reaction of n-butanol with ammonia. From lime nitrogen (calcium cyanamide), dibutyl amine can also be obtained by sodium hydroxide, dibutyl, and cyanamide.
