What’s the application of 2-Ethyl anthraquinone ?
- It is hydrogenated insolvent to produce 2-ethyl anthraquinone, then re-oxidized to produce 2-ethyl anthraquinone and hydrogen peroxide, this reaction is used in industry to produce hydrogen peroxide. It is produced from phthalic anhydride and ethylbenzene by the Fe-K reaction, and also from 1,4-naphthoquinone and 2-ethyl-1,3-butadiene by the Diels-Alder diene synthesis and dehydrogenation reaction. It is used in the production of hydrogen peroxide and as a dye intermediate, also used as a photographic agent for photographic resins, the catalyst for light-curing resins, photodegradable films, coatings, and initiator for photosensitive polymerization.
