Unstable in air, easy to become light red. Isophthalamide is widely used in the manufacture of dispersed dyes, reactive dyes, direct dyes, and cement accelerators.
What’s the application of MPDA?
- Mainly used as dyestuff intermediates and epoxy resin curing agents. Intermediates of azo dyes and acridine dyes, mainly used in the manufacture of direct sunlight resistant black RN, basic orange, basic brown G, direct sunlight resistant black G and other dyes, and used as fur dyes, in Japan Chemicalbook, azo dyes consume 90% of the total consumption of m-phenylenediamine.
- It is also used as a curing agent for epoxy resins, a setting promoter for cement, and for hair dye, mordant, and color development. Used as analytical reagent, resin curing agent, and polymerization inhibitor, also used in the synthesis of dyes. Spectrophotometric determination of nitrite, detection of bromate, bromide, chromate, ozone, gold, copper, dichromate, iron, oxygen, and platinum, determination of reactive chlorine, chromium, iridium, nitrite, and palladium.
