Tellurium tetrachloride Typical Properties
Characteristics:
Tellurium Chloride is the inorganic compound with the empirical formula TeCl4. The compound is volatile, subliming at 200°C at 0.1mm Hg. Molten TeCl4 is ionic, dissociating into ions TeCl3+ and Te2Cl102−.
Appearance & Physical State:
It is white crystalline and easy to absorb moisture, decomposed into tellurium dioxide and hydrochloric acid in water. When melted at 225 C, it becomes yellow liquid and dark red at higher temperatures. It’s stimulating. When H pore agent is flammable and cyanide emits toxic hydrogen cyanide gas, toxic chloride and telluride smoke are produced by heating. This product is an experimental reagent. The product should be sealed and dried.
Storage Conditions:
The warehouse should be kept ventilated, low temperature and dry, and stored separately from oxidants, cyanides, H pore-forming agents and alkalis.
Applications:
It is mainly used in photoelectric coatings, thin film materials, photoelectric materials and chemical reagents.
